Construction Begins on Buildings to House New Aruba Facility

Construction continues in earnest on the new buildings in Aruba that will house the first commercial WastAway facility outside the United States.  Site preparations and forms for the foundations have been underway since January. Work performed by contractor and sub-contractors continues to move forward at the site at a rapid pace as can be noticeably seen with the progress of erecting the steel structure for the main part of the building that will eventually house the machines. The building’s masonry walls that house the boilers and the tipping floor are progressing smoothly as are the silos in the process area.

The erector of the steel building and painters are working quickly to get the structure painted and erected so that roof and wall panels can be installed. Construction on the building is expected to continue through May.  Several 40’ containers arrive weekly at the site containing equipment for all parts of the operation. Significant progress is being made and this work is currently ahead of schedule.

Bouldin and Lawson, the WastAway equipment manufacturer, is also right on schedule.  The logistics for the delivery of the machines is progressing smoothly and shipping from McMinnville is expected by the end of April. Art Oxley, WastAway Project Manager for Bouldin and Lawson in Aruba remarked, “Bouldin & Lawson is committing the necessary resources to achieve our July operation date.  We have seen everyone pulling together to deliver this project on time.”
